Immigration and Migration Lawyers in Bangalore

We help foreign nationals, OCI cardholders, NRIs and Indians going abroad with Indian immigration, passport and citizenship issues. This includes FRRO matters, OCI problems, passport refusals and Look Out Circulars.

Overview

Indian immigration, passport and citizenship matters

Foreign nationals living in India must follow the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 and register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) where required. Indian citizens deal with the Passports Act, 1967 and the Citizenship Act, 1955.

We advise on Indian law only. For visas to other countries, we prepare the Indian documents you need, such as affidavits, powers of attorney and apostilled papers, and work with licensed advisers in that country.

Good to know

Things to know

A court case can affect travel

If a criminal case is pending, you may need the court’s permission to travel abroad or to get a passport.

An LOC can be challenged

A Look Out Circular that stops you from leaving India can be challenged before the High Court in suitable cases.

OCI is not dual citizenship

OCI gives lifelong visa and other rights, but it is not citizenship. Some rights, such as buying farm land, do not apply.

Use only registered recruiting agents

Workers going to many countries for jobs need emigration clearance and should use agents registered with the Government.
