Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Base Legal collects through this website (baselegal.in), why we collect it, and how we protect it. Base Legal is a practice of advocates at #686, 1st E Cross, 3rd Stage, 4th Block, Basaveshwara Nagar, Bengaluru – 560079, Karnataka, India. You can contact us about this policy at contact@baselegal.in.

What we collect

  • Contact forms. When you send a message through a form on this website, we collect what you enter. Depending on the form, this is your name, email address, phone number, country, time zone, organisation, the type of matter or support, and your message.
  • Emails, calls and WhatsApp messages. If you contact us directly, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.
  • Visit statistics. We count page visits with an analytics tool that runs on our own website. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. We see only totals, such as the number of visits to each page and the websites visitors came from.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the website working.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry.
  • To check for conflicts of interest before we agree to act.
  • To keep a record of enquiries we receive.
  • To keep the website secure and understand which pages are useful.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who else handles it

  • Hostinger hosts this website and our email. Form messages are stored on the website and sent to our email account. Hostinger’s servers may be located outside India.
  • Google provides the map on our Contact page and some of the fonts on this website. When these load, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) handles messages you send us on WhatsApp, under its own terms.

We share personal data with anyone else only if the law requires it, or with your permission.

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Your choice on the Bar Council of India disclaimer is stored in your browser for that visit only. Logged-in website administrators receive login cookies. The Google map on the Contact page may set Google cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records only as long as we need them to reply, to check conflicts and for our records. We review them regularly and delete those we no longer need. If you become a client, we keep your file as the law and our professional rules require.

Security and confidentiality

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including limited access and secure accounts. Advocates have a professional duty to keep client communications confidential. Even so, please do not send confidential documents through the website forms. Sending a message does not create an advocate–client relationship.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our use of it, unless we must keep it by law. Write to contact@baselegal.in. We will reply within a reasonable time, and within any time limit set by law.

Children

This website is not meant for children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.

Laws that apply

We handle personal data in line with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as its provisions come into force.
